Positives for Daddio (2024): Both Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn’s central performances are very good
This is a movie that rides on the shoulders of these two performances, and if the performances didn’t work, the movie doesn’t work. I really wanted to listen to these characters talk about the relationships they have with the people they interact with.
Negatives for Daddio (2024): Even though I was immersed in the conversations between the two characters, it also got boring very quickly
The whole movie is just these two characters talking in a taxi for 90 minutes, and a lot of people are going to enjoy that premise, but there’s going to be a lot of people who are going to be annoyed by it. Overall, Daddio (2024) is a very good dialogue driven film with great performances by its two actors and while it is good, it is a film where it definitely tests the endurance of the audience.
