It’s quite difficult to compare a book and its characters to its TV adaptation, because we each have our own idea of how certain characters should look and act. Also, while we can read a book at our leisure, TV needs to move at a pace that fits the format and doesn’t drag, so some characters or side plot lines may have to be put on hold for a while. because of That being said, yes there are differences from the book, but none so great as to spoil the overall fun and entertainment value.
The 80s music is fantastic, although one part I found annoying was the high-pitched operatic music at the beginning, which just didn’t fit. As for all the sex scenes, yes, we could do without some because we all have imaginations, but it wouldn’t be a book written by Cooper. It was wonderful to see Jilly Cooper in the restaurant lunch scene.
The last episode ended quite differently from the book, so I hope there will be at least one more season where we can see what happens with Taggie and RCB. . .
