An American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Chronology
The plot follows Morgan, a single mother of three who, thanks to her exceptional mind, is able to help solve a crime by sorting through evidence during her shift as a police cleaner. Despite having a very high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of arcane cases, Morgan makes a series of basic legal mistakes that anyone who has ever watched a TV legal show would know not to make. For example, in episode one, she obtains a document from a locked safe in the suspect/victim’s law office that would never be admissible in court — evidence obtained illegally.

In episode 2, she is reminded to put on gloves before handling evidence at the crime scene, and in episode 3, she removes all documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of evidence and ensuring that everything she removed also no longer exists. or an absurdist comedy like Always Sunny
At first I thought this was going to be a comedy like Psych! I mean, the only characters I’ve ever seen Kaitlin Olson play are trashy women with a very caustic sense of humor. If that’s what you like about her, don’t worry, she definitely brings both to the role.
And it’s its twin brother, The Mentalist
But somehow she does it in a mature way. Although I’ve only seen the first episode so far, it seems to be a show similar to the aforementioned Psych! It features Olson playing a character with an extremely high IQ who also suffers from a type of OCD where she obsesses over things that are out of place.
It’s not a detective show, but it’s not a comedy that you can laugh at either
She also has a very keen sense of observation and uses her eccentricities to help the local police solve crimes. It’s a light action crime series like ABC’s «The Rookie» and even reminds me of the brilliant FX series «Rescue Me» from the early 2000s. The first episode was enjoyable and I hope the series continues to follow the same lines, with a touch of dark humor that makes it enjoyable without turning into a joke.
